Oreo Balls

I made Oreo Balls for school one day last week because they are always such a hit and you can't mess them up!  Try them sometime and ENJOY!

  Ingredients...

I used a cookie scoop and rolled them into balls...

And ta-da! YUM! 

Here's the recipe...

1 (12 ounce) bag of mini white chocolate chips milk chocolate or almond bark
8 ounces cream cheese (Softened)
12 ounces Oreo cookies (either Original or Double Stuff)

Crush the Oreos with the blender until powder like
Then mix the Oreo Powder and Cream Cheese
Roll the Oreos and cream cheese into balls and chill until solid
Melt White Chocolate Chips then dip Oreo Balls in White Chocolate then let set (I used a toothpick to dip them in the white chocolate but you could use whatever)

 

It would be really cute if you were making them for a baby shower or a party to dye the white chocolate pink or blue or whatever color you want to!

Kabobs and potatoes

 We decided to grill out kabobs and potatoes on Sunday night since it was so nice and warm outside! We used chicken, squash, bell peppers, and onions on ours. But you could obviously use whatever sounds good to you. *I think chicken and pineapple would be delicious!  Daniel marinated the kabobs and let them sit for a while. I cut up the new potatoes and mixed them with olive oil and a packet of dry onion soup mix. Then we threw it all on the grill!

The life of a teacher...

 If you are still looking for a career...teaching is the way to go! Does is get frustrating at times...yes...but what job isnt?  The main reason I love my job, is because of the people I work with! The teachers on the 8th grade hall are amazing and I enjoy being around them everyday!

Home sweet home...

 When we got married Daniel was still in school at UAB and I was teaching at Homewood Middle School. We lived in Mayfair Apartments in Homewood and loved it! They were so convenient and we had several friends that lived there also. They had a huge pool and a workout room :) what not to love?

 Once Daniel finished up with school he started applying for jobs and got a hospital administration job with CHS working at Gadsden Regional Hospital in Gadsden, Al.  We went to Gadsden and looked at houses, but I LOVE my job at Homewood Middle School and did not want to change schools. So we decided to look for houses out in Trussville, Al because it is about half way for both of us.  Not really though...Daniel kinda got the bad end of the deal because it's about 40 minutes to Gadsden and 20 to Homewood, but oh well! We also have some great friends that live in Trussville - Will and Jana - and she teaches with me at Homewood, so we carpool to school whenever possible! We finally found a house that we LOVE and moved in Easter weekend 2010.

On November 22, 2008 we were married at Trinity United Methodist church in Homewood, Al. It was the best day of my life and everything was perfect! Having all of our family and friends together celebrating in the joy that we found someone to spend the rest of our life with was such a wonderful feeling!  Here are few pics from the day...

Engagement Weekend at Smith Lake

One weekend in the fall of 2007 we decided to go to Daniel's lake house for the weekend. We have been going to his lake house for many years and we have lots of memories there. We invited several friends to come up there with us for the weekend since Alabama had an away football game. Friday night people were not getting up there til late so Daniel and I decided to go to dinner at McCormik and Schmicks before we headed to the lake. We had a wonderful dinner then drove to Smith Lake. When we arrived at the lake house there was a note on the front door that said the lock was broken and we needed to go around to the back door. When we got to the back of the house I saw the dock...it was covered in candles and lights and roses everywhere! I dropped my bags, Daniel grabbed my hand, and led me to the base of the dock. It was so beautiful (and if you know me you know how much I LOVE lights and candles)! He made a video/slideshow of pictures that were special to us and after he played that for me he talked for a bit about spending the rest of our lives together and asked me to marry him! Obviously I said yes! After talking for a while we went up to the lake house, and when I walked inside his whole family and my whole family were there waiting on us! That was the best surprise! After about an hour of celebrating with our family all of our friends arrived and we surprised them with the wonderful news! It was an amazing and perfect weekend!

13 years ago....

About 13 years ago Daniel and I met in 6th grade. It was love at first sight...TOTALLY KIDDING! But we did 'go out', if you can call it that, for a few weeks in middle school and then starting dating our sophomore year of high school. We went to Alabama, dated throughout college, and got married the fall after we graduated. I have been really excited about starting this blog to capture all of the memories that we make over the years. So here we go...
